Dallas Attractions on a Budget
Dallas has come a long way from becoming a prairie trading post. The newly built entertainment district is just one of the attractions that makes Dallas worth exploring. The city boasts of booming businesses and a sudden emphasis on the arts. Many people visit the city because of its role in history, but there are museums that cater to this sort of traveler for a minimal, and at times, absent fee. Visitors will find a couple of entertainment districts and an evolving Arts district, apart from neighborhoods that have landscapes beautiful enough for sightseeing. Dallas is known for its incredible shopping, but veer away from the acres of shopping malls in the Metroplex. Year-round activities are friendly to cost-conscious travelers especially with the city’s festivals and fairs that are hosted for free. Main Attractions include the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, Thanks-Giving Square, Dallas City Hall, John F. Kennedy memorial, and the Old Rd Museum of Dallas County History and Culture.
Savings Tip: Stick to downtown Dallas. The Dallas-Fort Worth area is known as a shopping mecca, so if you don’t want to lose your cash to some high-end brand, stick with downtown’s hip and unique shopping, dining, and lodging scene.
Where to Stay in Dallas
The city’s lodging scene has gotten more high profile with the Hotel Palomar, Ritz Carlton, and the W hotel lining up in its alleys. But there are plenty of standard chains to choose from. Chain hotels dominate the town’s market, but a few come superior and still offer first-class service. There are also some hotels that are worthy of recommendation due to its significantly low price. The Omni hotel Dallas is centrally located and there is a museum inside the hotel. If that is a bang for your buck we don’t know what is. The Sheraton Hotel Dallas is also a great option and within close proximity to the Museum of Art. The Magnolia hotel downtown is a little pricier than the other hotels but it is gorgeous. We suggest popping in and walking around. For more Dallas hotels to fit any budget visit Reservations.com
