When in Austin be ready for warm weather, don’t expect anything under 50 degrees. The summers are brutal, high 90’s to 100 degrees. Things cool down around mid-September to an average of 70’s. Remember to pack a light jacket for those autumn nights, and sunscreen and light clothes for the summer months.
When to Visit
If you can’t handle the heat, the best time to visit Austin would be in the fall, Sept – Nov are the best weather months. With the cooler temps you can expect some great festivals and outdoor activities to enjoy. You might want to avoid March because of South by Southwest. But if you’re itching to check it out make sure to book a few months in advance.
Transportation
Austin is pedestrian-friendly city, so bring your comfortable shoes. Biking is also a great way to get around in central Austin. If you want to explore outside the city center rent a car and hit the open road. Car sharing is also available! Getting around Austin on your vacation is easy peasy!
