Guests don’t just look for a room to stay in; they want the whole experience of living in another city or neighborhood as if it’s their home, and Sonder bridges that gap between desire and reality.
Sonder is a tech-driven hospitality platform that allows users to rent spaces for living and travel. The idea is to provide the same hotel service experience without making it feel like one is staying in a hotel, but rather a home. Through its Take Stay Further, one can have the whole travel experience in the best neighborhoods in cities across North America and Europe. Sonder takes full responsibility for leasing, maintaining, designing, and furnishing the space making sure it adapts to the cultural identity of the city and fully maximize the authentic feel. Sonder doesn't want its users to see them as the mere middlemen; but rather its own brand of experience -the Sonder experience.
Sonder was founded in 2012 but wasn't fully realized until 2014. Its founders, Francis Davidson and Lucas Pellan, said that the whole Sonder idea didn’t come until they had a bland and inconvenient experience when renting a place. They came up with the question: what if there could be a place that has the reliability of a hotel and the character of a home? Today, that's Sonder.
