EasyHotel, known as a “superbudget” provider, is a hotel development, management and franchise. It was initially under EasyGroup Holdings Ltd that was founded by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou until its incorporation in 2004. EasyHotel built its first hotel in South Kensington, London in 2005.
EasyHotel during its earlier years, was more focused on franchise contracts rather than developing its own hotel. It was only after several successful franchise contracts that EasyHotel proceeded to establish its own directly owned hotels. Despite the “superbudget” selling point for EasyHotel, the quality of the hotels in the company remain excellent with safe, comfortable and clean accommodations.
Currently, EasyHotel accommodations can be found in ten countries with thirty-six hotels, twenty-five of which are franchised and eleven are directly owned. In total, there are 3,355 rooms operated by EasyHotel all-over the world. EasyHotel has been growing at a stable pace with continuous development every year. In 2018-2019 pipeline, expected new hotels will be completed in Cardiff, Amsterdam, Milton Keynes, Chester, Cambridge, Bur Dubai, Malaga, Zurich, Istanbul, and Basel.
After a few years of successful operations, EasyHotel also went into public listing at the London Stock Exchange in 2014 in an Alternative Investment Market. In the listing, EasyHotel gained £24.5 million for its expansion and implementation of its plans.
