One of the most historical hotel chains in Italy is Royal Group. It was established in 1955 when The Hotel Royal opened its doors in Naples, right where the Grand Hotel Royal des Estrangers stood in the 19th century. Its growth continued to flourish since then, opening the Parco dei Principi in Sorrento in 1962.

Come the 1990s, Continental Naples opened, replacing a historical 1911 building that had then been in ruins.
