Kotoka International Airport – ACC Accra
Kotoka International Airport is a public and military international airport with an airport code of ACC located in Ghana’s Capital City, Accra. The Airport is being operated by Ghana Airports Company Limited that was a former military airport utilized in World War II by British Royal Air Force. In 1958, this military base was converted to a passenger airport under the name Acca International Airport with half a million annual carrying capacities. It was in 1969, when the airport was renamed into its present name in recognition of Kwasi Katoka, a liberal leader who was killed in the coup attempt that took place near the airport.
