It is one of the 20 New York State Heritage Areas. The visitors center offers exhibits and tours. The exhibit features the history of Albany including the ships named for the city. The staff is famous for being knowledgeable about the history and culture of the place. It also houses The Henry Hudson Planetarium that offers public shows every third Saturday of the month.
