About BD Hotels - Independent Albertson
Wanting to provide affordable, convenient, and practical accommodation solutions in one of the world’s busiest and most visited cities, New York City (NYC), Richard Born and Ira Drukier founded BD Hotels. Basically, the company operates capsule hotels in NYC. Currently, it manages 24 properties all over the city, including Bowery, Jane, and Maritime.
Prior to establishing BD Hotels, Born and Drukier founded The Pod Hotel. It was in the early 2000s when they first realized the need to offer small rooms with basic amenities. Of course, the goal is to provide these accommodation services without compromising convenience, practicality, and most importantly, customer satisfaction. However, at the time, the concept was still not that welcomed in the industry. Today, capsule hotels have transformed the hospitality market around the world. They have become the perfect option for backpackers who only need the bare minimum— a place to crash every night.
The idea of BD Hotels— or capsule hotels in general— is to keep everything as simple as possible without having to forego a great customer experience. It is the best solution for budget travelers who are just really looking to explore new cultures, to visit places, and to tick items off their bucket lists.
