Alma: Land of the Blueberry Where You Will Never Feel Blue
Alma, Georgia is a simple community with only a few thousands residents. It was established during the 19th century and became a city in 1906. The town’s name, sharing that of towns and cities in other states, was derived from one of the local people’s name. The city houses four sites which are part of the US National Register of Historic Places. Alma is famous for its blueberries.
Best Time to Visit
Unlike other towns or cities, at Alma, GA it is the winter that runs only for short months. Otherwise, it is warm to scorching hot (especially during summer) in the city. If you want to avoid the high volume of tourists and score cheaper deals on Alma GA hotels, it is best to come around March to May when the weather is also generally much more comfortable. However, as the city is known to be Georgia’s blueberry capital, it is during June when the Blueberry Festival takes place.

General Coffee State Park is a relaxing spot where you can also find a lake. Lots of interesting museum are also within the area and Southern Forest World is one of them.
