VC Bird International Airport-ANU
VC Bird International Airport is a major international airport in St. John’s, Antigua that serves flights from the island as well as nearby regions of Antigua and Barbuda. ANU-V.C. Bird Intl. was originally an airport operated by the U.S. Army Air Forces since its conception in 1941. The airport was originally named Coolidge Airfield and was used as a military base up to the mid-1940s. It became an international airport - Coolidge International Airport in 1985.
Best Time to Visit
The airport used to have a single terminal up until 2005 when the Barbuda Millenium Airport Corporation decided to work on a second terminal. However, construction took place after 2012 and the terminal became operations 3 years after in 2015. All flights in the airport are now served in the new terminal. Major airlines operating in the airport include Air Canada, American Airlines, Caribbean Airlines, Delta Air, JetBlue, Seaborne Airlines and United Airlines.
