Ax-les-Thermes: A Family’s Winter Delight

It is highly recommended to visit Ax-les-Thermes during the months of April through November, for the perfect weather. Peak tourist season is usually from March until May. Tourists are least likely to visit in December. One of the most famous events in the area is Festival des Saveurs, which is held every September. There is a farmers market all-day, made complete with live musical performances. It also features a cooking competition. Another nearby event to look forward to is Fête de la Figue in Le Mas D’Azil, which is held every October. Some of the highlights of the event are cold buffet, fig gathering, jam-making, produce market, and traditional ball.

The commune is home to a lot of ski resorts. One of the most popular destinations is Ax 3 Domaines. The climb to the ski station has been used in the Tour de France cycle race as a stage finish since 2001. Tourists may enjoy several winter sports in the city. Another must-see attraction in the area is Bassin des Ladres, which has been listed as a historical monument site in 1979. It is well-known for its cultural, historical, and even scientific significance. Accordingly, it has been around since the late 13th century. Be sure not to miss the Ax-Bonascre Gondola.
