Bautzen: History in a Bliss
Bautzen, Germany is an attractive town lying up on a hill on Eastern Saxony. It also sits on the banks of the river Spree. Its history dates back as far as the Stone Age. An interesting fact about the town is that an asteroid was named after it. Setting foot at Bautzen will give you a Tuscany vibe to it because of the numerous towers you will find in town. The town is acknowledged for its delectable mustard.
Best Time to Visit
Only a month or maybe less when you will enjoy the warmth of the sun over at Bautzen. Otherwise, the town feels cool to freezing and has partly cloudy skies. It is most recommended to visit May and early September. Aside from the huge crowd of travelers and higher rates of Bautzen DE hotels, you also have to watch out for light to moderate rain during these months. International Folklore Festival is held July annually.

One of the points of interest in town is the Bautzen Memorial. It was previously a prison now turned as a museum where you can witness firsthand how life behind bars is. Another intriguing museum would be the Old Waterworks housed in one of the towers in the town. It used to be a functional water plant. With a vast green space surrounding it, the Bautzen Reservoir and Dam would seem just like a serene lake. You can enjoy the rest of your afternoon at the spot by having a picnic.
