Biju Patnaik International Airport is a public airport owned and operated by the Airports Authority of India. It serves the area of Bhubaneswar, India as well as the other nearby regions close to Odisha. The airport is close to the Bhubaneswar Railway Station and four miles away from the main city center. BBI Airport was named after Biju Patnaik. Patnaik was the former chief minister of Odisha Province. He was a famous aviator and freedom leader during his time. The airport is one of the busiest airports under the Airports Authority of India with a regular growth of 27.9% per year.
