Brighton: Utah’s Ski Haven
Brighton is a town located in the eastern portion of Salt Lake County, Utah. It is an unincorporated community, which means that it does not have a local municipality governing it. Another distinct characteristic of this town is that it is perched on the Big Cottonwood Canyon, providing it with an ideal location for skiing. Ogden Hinckley Airport (OGD) and the Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) are some of the nearest airports serving the town.
Best Time to Visit
Tourism at this town peaks during the winter months of December to March. As such, make sure that you book your Brighton lodging ahead of time so that you will have no problem getting your first choice of accommodation.
What to Do & Area Attractions
This town is most famous for its ski resorts. The Brighton Ski Resort is one of the first of its kind in the US. It is featured with complete amenities for accommodation, dining, and even shopping. Meanwhile, the Solitude Mountain Ski Resort is a smaller area with slopes that are more fitting for beginner and intermediate skiers. If you do not want to stay at the ski resort itself, you can book your Brighton hotel at the Snowpine Lodge, a rustic 4-star accommodation that was built way back in 1938. You can also choose to stay at the Sunrise Lodge by Hilton Grand Vacations, which is an alpine-style lodge overlooking the mountainside.
