Castellón Airport – CDT Castellón
Castellón Airport has an airport code of CDT and is located in Castellón de la Plana, Spain. This private airport is owned and operated by SNC-Lavalin situated near the areas of Cabanes and Vilanova d'Alcolea, Benlloch.
This airport was officially opened in 2011 with commercial flights set to begin a year later. However, the operations were delayed and the first flight to CDT Airport was launched in 2015. The first flight was from Castellón to Bristol and London, which were operated by Ryanair.

Meanwhile, the flights to Marseille and Vienna are scheduled to begin in 2020. CDT-Castellón Airport serves the town of Castellón as well as the surrounding cities of Peniscola and Peniscola Old Town.
Before the airport was scheduled to be open, the runway needed to undergo some modifications. CDT-Castellón was negatively tainted and was seen by the public as a waste of money as the country went into recession and experienced a financial crisis.
