Clinton: Exploring the Countryside of Kentucky
As a home rule-class city in Hickman County, Clinton, Kentucky is home to just over a thousand residents as of 2010. The city doubles as the county seat and home to the Clinton College. Clinton was believed to have been named in honor of a military captain, who was assigned to the area during its early settlement in the late 1820s. However, it wasn’t until 1831 when the city was officially incorporated. Factoring in weather conditions, the best times for a visit to Clinton, Kentucky, is between early April to early June. This is right in time for the city’s annual Clinton- Hickman County Spring Chicken Festival, which has been celebrated for around a decade now. This two-day event falls every last weekend of April and held in the Court Square of Hickman County. The festival features a fun run, a cook-off, and a variety of vendors around the square.
