Cooktown Airport – CTN Airport
Cooktown Airport or CTN Airport is a public airport located in Cooktown, Queensland, Australia. It is owned and operated by the Cook Shire Council and serves Cooktown as well as neighboring areas. One airline offers passenger service from the airport.
Best Time to Visit
The CTN airport occupies land that is 26 feet above mean sea level. It has one runway, runway 11/29 that measures 5,338 feet long and has an asphalt surface. The airport is situated 4.7 miles from the town’s center. Hinterland Aviation offers scheduled regular flights to Cairns. However, passenger services will be canceled on December 4-6, 2019 due to the closing of the airport’s runway. The Cooktown Shire Council is closing down the airport for runway works. Normal services from Cairns to Cooktown under the airlines will resume on December 7, 2019. Nearby towns that benefit from the air services in CTN include Hope Vale, Rossville, and even Lakeland.
