DeRidder: Where All Things Are Possible
The parish seat of Beauregard Parish is the city of DeRidder. It is in the state of Louisiana. DeRidder, Louisiana was named for Ella de Ridder, her brother-in-law is Jan de Goeijin who is Dutch Railroad financier and the one who brought the first ever railroad in DeRidder, LA. Over the years, the wonderful city had worked hard to develop the place and has now become a place for tourist attractions, accommodations, fine dining and recreation.
Best Time to Visit
It is always better to spend less during vacations and if you want to save money on DeRidder, LA hotels better book early or visit the city during its lean season. January and February are considered as lean months in DeRidder. If you prefer to see lots of tourists like you, then visit the city in April to May or September to October. But don’t expect to find cheap hotels during those months.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Visit the town’s trademark known as the Hanging Jail. It is a Gothic revival building where you can see the jail cells of the prisoners. It may sound scary but don’t be afraid it has been part of DeRidder, LA’s history. Another historic site to see is the Beauregard Museum it will immerse you on the deep history of the city.
