Douglas–Charles Airport – DOM Dominica
The Douglas–CharlesAirport is one of the only two airports in the island country of Dominica. It is a major international gateway of Dominica, located in Marigot, Dominica. Its airport code, DOM, stands for the country’s name which is Dominica. Melville Hall Airport before, it was renamed Douglas-Charles airport on October 27, 2014 in tribute to Prime Ministers Roosevelt Bernard “Rosie” Douglas and Pierre Charles. In 1944, Melville Hall area was selected for Dominica’s main airport for its feature - extensive flat land. But it was only 1958 that the work on the airport was started. No night landing in the airport before, it was in 2010 that night landing began.

The DOM-Douglas–Charles Airport undergone airport expansion and upgrade program. The expansion of the terminal building includes a new terminal lounge and customs and immigration section and check-in area. The runway and apron were included to extension with new night landing and navigation aids installed. Some of the best cities to go from Douglas–Charles Airport include Canefield, Giraudel, and Trafalgar.
