The fastest and most hassle-free way to get to Drake Bay in Costa Rica is through the Bahía Drake Airport (DRK), a public airport on the coast 2 miles northeast of Agujitas de Drake, the largest village in the area. It is operated by Costa Rica's Directorate General of Civil Aviation and it serves Bahía Drake, a known tourist destination in Osa Canton, Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica. The airport also carries the name Drake Bay Airport.
Best Time to Visit
The Bahía Drake Airport has recently undergone renovations and new facilities were inaugurated in January 2019 and since then till July, there has been 12,727 passenger traffic or almost twice as many passengers using the airport than in 2018. Two domestic airlines offer several daily flights to Drake Bay from Juan Santamaria International Airport. The terminal is still a small building but it is now more modern. There is one asphalt runway used for taking off and landing of smaller aircraft. The nature attractions of Playa Tortuga, Uvita and San Gerardo de Dota are within easy reach from DRK Airport.
