Entebbe International Airport in Entebbe, Uganda is one of the major international airports in the country. Situated near the shores of Lake Victoria, it is just 40.5 kilometers from Kampala CBD. Kampala serves as the capital of Uganda and the largest of all its cities. EBB-Entebbe Intl. is the only international airport located in Uganda. An estimate of $200 million U.S. dollars was borrowed for the Phase 1 modernization and improvements in the airport. Such changes include the relocation and the expansion of the cargo terminal, building a new terminal specific to the needs of the passenger, improvements and modernization of the old passenger terminal as well as the rehabilitation and renovation of the old runway.
