Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport was formerly called as Beef Island Airport. It is considered the main gateway to the British Virgin Islands found in the Caribbean region. This major airport is located in Beef Island that is connected to Tortola, British Virgin Islands, which is the largest island in the Carribean. It is a popular destination because of its white sands and blue waters. Queen Elizabeth II Bridge connects the two islands together. People heading to other US Virgin Islands will like to pass by this airport with code EIS. These travelers will start in Beef Island then take a ferry to their nearby island destination.

EIS-Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport underwent a major renovation in 2004. Part of the renovation is expanding the runaway that allows bigger planes to land in the airfield. Other highlights of the renovation include new control tower, larger terminal building, and expanded parking area. Spanish Town and Little Trunk Bay are some cities that surround the airport.

There are only few hotels nearby the airport. The closest one is the Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, Autograph Collection, with just almost 2 km away. You can also stay at the much further but near the beach, 20km away from the airport, the Sebastian’s On The Beach.
There are smaller airports that are nearby including the Auguste George Airport (NGD) in the northern part of the island and also the North Sound Airport (NSX) that caters to chartered flights.
