Fairfield: Hometown of the "Friendly" People
Fairfield, Illinois is a city located in Wayne County, Illinois, United States. This city is known as the hometown of the "friendly" people, which specifically refers to the Shelton Brothers Gang or the notorious bootleggers. Fairfield is also home to some of the notable persons in US history like Senator William Borah, the "Lion of Idaho”, Kenneth Michael Kays, a Medal of Honor for heroism awardee during the Vietnam War, and country music singer-songwriter Lance Miller. Fairfield city is also the home of Frontier Community College, an affiliate of Franklin University.
Best Time to Visit
Months of May until October are the most pleasant months in Fairfield, while December to January are the least comfortable months due to the excessive cold in temperature, but during the Christmas season, the city hosts the annual Fairfield's Festival of Lights where it features over 90 lighted displays. Some of the much awaited festivals are the Fairfield's Annual Fall Fun Fest on Septembers and the Founder’s Festival, which happens every June.

One of which is Leo French Park, which is the largest with a baseball diamonds and an Olympic size pool. 30 minutes from downtown you will find the Fairfield Country Club, a public 10-hole golf course with affordable amenities.
