Grand Central Airport – GCJ Johannesburg
Grand Central Airport is a small airfield situated in the middle of Pretoria and Johannesburg, South Africa specifically in Midrand. It is owned by Old Mutual Life Assurance Company of South Africa and is open for public operations. A group of motor racing enthusiasts opened the airport in 1930s. Traces of the race tracks can be seen northeast part of the airport but are not functional.

Grand Central Airport is an airfield fully equipped and operational 24 hours per day. The airport has a single asphalt runway measuring 6,004 feet in length. The airport features a modern terminal inside its complex. It houses numerous flying schools for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. Repairs and maintenance facilities are provided by three fixed-based operators in the airfield. There is no customs facility in the airport. Because the airfield is small, it can only handle small aircrafts. A radio call is adequate for aircraft pilots before landing. The airport offers different entertainment areas great for bonding with friends. It also has a good café for its visitors. The airport is surrounded by the cities of Sunninghill, Mabopane, Rivonia and a lot more.

Sun1 Midrand is 28 minutes away from the airport approximately 1.18 miles the city center. The 4-star Accolades Boutique Venue is a luxurious guesthouse centrally located and can be traveled less than an hour from the airport. The Rustic Deck is situated in the suburb of Glen Austin and is just one hour and 14 minutes from the airport.
Lanseria International Airport (HLA) is 23.12 miles away from the airport while Rand Airport (QRA) is 22.31 miles away.
