East Texas Regional Airport, formerly known as Gregg County Airport is located south of Longview, Gregg County, in the state of Texas. This public airport owned by the local government of Gregg County is operating for the purpose of general aviation including private taxis and recreational flying, and military training. This regional airport also caters for nearby cities of Shreveport and Texarkana, as alternative airport. Aside from the general aviation and military trainings, the airline American Eagle is the sole airline functioning in GGG airport flying from Longview to Dallas or Fort Worth. The Great Texas Balloon Race, an annually event since 1980, has also been accommodated in GGG airport. It had also been a significant stop of Ferry Flight 58 of Space Shuttle Atlantis during the orbiter maintenance.
