Good Hope Centre, Cape Town, South Africa
The Good Hope Centre is an exhibition hall and conference center situated in Cape Town, South Africa. Located along Sir Lowry Road, it was built in 1976 based on the design by the world-renowned structural engineer and architect Pier Luigi Nervi. The structure is massive from the facade yet has a contrasting delicate structural concrete in its interiors. The center served as a venue for many big events in the city for 40 years. It was closed to the public in 2016 amidst uproar from different sectors of the city.
