Staybridge Suites is part of the IHG of InterContinental Hotels Group. Their very first hotel opened in 1998 at Alpharetta, Georgia and just 6 years after they have built 75 hotels. Their first extended stay hotel outside Europe was the 132-suite Staybridge Suites in Liverpool that was opened to public in June 2008.

They had received the highest rank under the extended stay segment in August 2009 after the 2009 Hotel Guest Satisfaction Study. In the 2011 United States Hotel Chain Survey, the Business Travel News had rated them the top upscale extended-stay brand.
