One of the most prominent attractions in the area is Castle of Freyr, which is considered as one of the most significant heritage sites in Wallonia. It is particularly renowned for its gardens designed in Andre Le Notre’s style by Canon Guillaume de Beaufort-Spontin in 1760. Tourists should also visit Montaigle Castle, a ruined medieval castle established in the 14th century. Once used as a Belgo-Roman fort during the late Roman era, Henry II of France destroyed it in the mid-16th century. Another interesting, nearby site to visit is the Collegiate Church of Our Lady in Dinant, a Gothic cathedral built in the 13th century.
