Hezhou is a city and prefecture located in the northeastern border of the Guangxi Region in China. It is comprised of one autonomous county, two counties, and two urban districts. The best time to visit Hezhou, China is from May to September, when the weather is the warmest throughout the year and there is little chance of rainfall. The best time to travel to Hezhou to avoid peak season is during the winter. Most tourists visit from the summer to the fall, leaving the crowds toward the end of the year relatively low. There are several exciting festivals and events to attend throughout the year in China, including Chinese New Year in January or February and the Lantern Festival held around February.

While there is plenty to do in Hezhou’s commercial district, the city is also still rich in natural sites. Visitors can take a trek through the Hezhou Yushi Forest and observe the grand rock formations that border its trails. The Xiangu Waterfall is another picturesque site that pours down from high up in the Gupo Mountain.
