The first hotels, the Polynesian Village and the Contemporary Resort Hotel, were built in time for the theme park’s opening in 1971. The Walt Disney World Resort hotels are classified into four categories. The smallest rooms have the smallest price tags and are aptly categorized as the Value Resorts. The Deluxe Resorts offer the most luxurious amenities but come with the most expensive price tag.
