Hue: The Historic City of Vietnam Full of Festivities
A city in central Vietnam, Hue was a capital of Dang Trong Kingdom from 1738 up to 1775 and in the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 up to 1945. Hue, Vietnam is also the battleground for the Battle of Hue, the bloodiest and longest battle of the Vietnam War. The 19th-century Citadel is what it is known for, which is surrounded by thick stone walls. It is also known for its historic values and was recognized as one of the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

During late January or early February, the Vietnam Lunar New Year is celebrated. Come the month of April, the Hue Festival is celebrated by locals inviting tourists from all over the world to make their identity known through dance performances, food varieties, and introduction of their cultural heritage every 2 years. On the 8th Lunar Month, the Mid-Autumn Festival or Trung Thu is celebrated when the moon shine the brightest, and is also the time they worship the Moon Genie.
