Izumi: Center of Siberian Crane Migration
Izumi, Japan, is a city in Kagoshima established in 1954. Noda and Takaono were integrated into the city in 2006. It is renowned for the thousands of cranes that migrate from Siberia annually.

The best time to visit Izumi is during the months of March through June and September through November for the perfect weather. The busiest months are usually February, March, and July. Tourists are least likely to visit in October. One of the most popular events in the area is Ohara Festival, which is held every November 2 to 3. Introduced in 1949, it involves locals dancing on the tramway. A special city tram is decorated and illuminated during the event.
