Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport – JAN Jackson
Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport is an airport on the east of Jackson, Mississippi. It is a civil military airport owned by the city of Jackson just across the Pearl Lake and was named after the late Mississippi Field Secretary for the NAACP, Medgar Evers. JAN – Mississippi was 8th in rank as the best airport in a worldwide consumer survey by Airports Council International (ACI) conducted in March 2011. On February 2011, five new jet ways were installed. Recent improvements on the airport also include long garage parking.
Best Time to Visit
Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport has only one passenger terminal that is L in shape and has 19 passenger gates in all. The Mississippi Musician Hall of Fame museum is located in the airport. There are also a few food kiosks in the area and an Airport Starbucks if you want to have some coffee while reading your newspaper. Passengers can shop at gift shops on Floor 2 of the terminal. Art displays can also be viewed from the same floor. The cities of Clinton and Florence are great places to pay a visit near JAN Jackson.
