Kamikawa: A Riverside Town of Peace and Natural Beauty
Covering a total of 18.3 square miles, Kamikawa, Japan, is a town found within the prefecture of Saitama. It is located on the westernmost border of the prefecture, along the Kanna River. While there are a handful of attractions in the area, the closest hotels and accommodations are found roughly three to five miles from the city center.
Best Time to Visit
Visiting Kamikawa in March will reward you with a festive spring vibe, albeit the expensive Kamikawa, Japan hotels. During this time of year, the Super God Festival, a cherry blossom festival complemented with live music entertainment, is held in the city. It runs for two days, a week apart, and is packed with family-friendly activities. However, you might need to plan your stay in the city as the spring season is typically the most active in Kamikawa. On the other hand, coming to the town in December proves to be the least expensive.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Your holiday in Kamikawa is not complete without dropping by Jomine Park, where you can see around 600 tiny cherry blossom trees. The trees begin blossoming in October and even coincide with the changing of the autumn leaves. This makes the park exceptionally beautiful in the fall, as you can witness both cherry blossoms and autumn. For accommodations, Hotel KAN-RAKU Honjo Waseda Ekimae and Hotel Metropolitan Takasaki are excellent choices. The former is within walking distance from the Kanasana Shrine and the latter is a few minute’s walk from Takasaki Tower Museum.
