Kampar: Discover Malaysia’s Unknown Town
Kampar, Malaysia is considered to be a sleepy town. It is unknown to the majority of tourists since all eyes are focused on the big city of Kuala Lumpur, which is about 2 hours away. However, for those who know a lot about history especially during World War II, the town serves as a ground that has seen an intense battle between British, Indian and Japanese military. It served as a battleground between forces causing heavy casualties before the invading army has retreated. Tourists often get at this town and they are surprised by the variety of attractions it has to offer.
Best Time to Visit
The months from November to February are considered the worst time to visit because of the rain that is brought to the region. It is best to avoid these months especially for those who are planning to walk around the town. Weather-wise and marveling natural beauty, the months of March to June are drier, which is perfect for sightseeing.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Going around Kampar doesn’t require a map because the town is small. The town retains the Old World beauty of the place. There are a lot of attractions offered by the place for hours and hours of fun. The Kinta Tin Mining Museum has artifacts related to the town’s history. The old university is found in town and that is Tunku Abdul Rahman University. Accommodation is not a problem because there are good ones like Grand Kampar Hotel and The Trails of Kampar.
