Kasane: Exploring the Town in Africa’s Four Corners
Kasane, Botswana, is a town located in so-called Africa’s Four Corners. This is where the four countries of Namibia, Zambia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe almost meet. It is found in the northeasternmost portion of the country, close to the river of Chobe. The city served as the site for Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor’s remarriage in 1975. Fall, which is months from March to May, is practically the second busiest season for tourism in Kasane. This coincides with the annual Kasane Encounter Festival, a music event featuring local bands and artists and their variety of music.
