About Danske Hoteller Kelstrup Strand
DanskeHoteller is a Danish hotel chain primarily owned by Erik SophusFalck. Established in 1990, the company is going strong as it approaches its 30th year. It currently has 22 hotels in Denmark, starting with its flagship hotel, the Dronninglund Hotel. Interestingly, the company is not listed but some of the shareholders include The Danish Teacher’s Association with stocks purchased directly from the company.
DanskeHoteller aims to eventually cover the whole country with their brand. Going strong in this goal, their locations include Dronninglund, Aabybro, Hjalleru, Ikast, Herning, Vildbjerg, Thisted, Vissenberg, Mesntrup and Viborg. Their latest acquisition was in 2019 – the Hotel Ansgar in Esbjerg, turning their total holdings into 22 luxurious properties.
The chain is characterized by an old-school ambience with a façade that favors the later centuries. Acquiring old hotels instead of building new structures allows DanskeHoteller to offer accommodations that reflect Denmark’s history and culture. For example, their latest acquisition was originally built in the 19th century while their 2018 addition was designed in 1986 and inspired by the royal castle.
Favoring wide and roomy landscapes instead of overly tall buildings, the DanskeHoteller pays respect to its surroundings by adapting their accommodations to the general feel of the place where they choose to operate.
