Kilimanjaro, Moshi, Tanzania

Kilimanjaro, or known to many as Mount Kilimanjaro, is categorized as a dormant volcano in Moshi in the country of Tanzania. It is a highly recognized mountain for many reasons. First, it is the highest mountain in Africa, and second, it is the highest in the world as a freestanding mountain. The mountain measures 19,341 feet above sea level and 16,100 feet from the plateau base. Fourth, it has three volcanic cones, namely Mawenzi, Shira, and Kibo. Lastly, it is the fourth in terms of being the most topographically prominent peak on the Earth. Many seek to climb the mountain and is a major climbing destination for enthusiasts.
