Korcula: Wining and Relaxing in a Glorious Old Town
Located in the Adriatic Sea, Korcula is the sixth largest island in Croatia. Korcula is not as popular as the Brac and Hvar islands, but that does not mean it pales in terms of beauty, history or culture. Korcula is one of Croatia’s most precious islands – more so because of its authentic and relaxed atmosphere. Korcula is also known for its dense forest of pines, olive groves and vineyards, which is why the early Greeks referred to it as Kerkyra Melaina (Black Korcula).
Best Time to Visit
Months of July and August are the peak months in Korcula. Prices are high, so if you want to be in the thick of things during tourist season, prepare by booking your Korcula accommodations advance. There are fewer crowds and more chances of getting good accommodation deals in months of June and September. If you want to explore Korcula without the bustle, schedule your visit in months of April, May or October. Easter is one of the most celebrated events in Korcula.
