Skovde Airport – KVB Skovde
Inaugurated in 1989, the Skovde Airport is situated about ten kilometers from the center of Skovde, Sweden. Presently, there are no regular flight services at KVB Skovde. Even without standard passenger flights, the airport still benefits the community and the businesses in the region. Skovde Airport offers its services for ambulance, military, freight, charter, and business flights.
Best Time to Visit
This airport was meant to be a mutual airfield to both Skovde and Skara, but the project did not push through. Three airports were built to compensate -KVB Skovde Airport, Falkoping Airport, and Lidkoping-Hovby Airport. During its brief operation from 1994 to 1999, Skyway Regional and Swedair served Copenhagen/Kastrup and Stockholm/Arlanda. Aside from its array of special services, the airport currently hosts three active flying clubs and a gliding club. KVB Skovde constructed a new and longer runway to make way for events, such as RallyX and the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship. Two cities are close to the Skovde Airport, Munkaskog and Hjo. Outdoor enthusiasts will be delighted with the lush nature reserves and the peaceful lake surrounding Munkaskog. On the other hand, Hjo sits on Vattern’s west coast and is famous for being a part of the Three Wooden Towns.
