Lanai Airport – LNY Lanai
Lanai Airport, also written as Lānaʻi Airport, is a public use airport owned by the Hawaii Department of Transportation. It is located 3.4 miles (six kilometers) southwest of the central business district of Lanai City, Maui County, Hawaii. Operational since 1930, it is the only airport that serves Lanai, primarily handling scheduled inter-island and commuter or air taxi traffic, along with occasional unscheduled charter and general aviation activity.
Best Time to Visit
Occupying an area of 505 acres (204 hectares), the Lanai Airport has one asphalt runway designated 3/21, which measures 5,001 x 150 feet (1,524 x 46 meters).There are four gates in the passenger terminal complex built in 1964. Ticket counters for passenger check-ins are found in the main lobby. There are currently two airlines that fly out of LNY – the Hawaiian Airlines to Honolulu, and Mokulele Airlines to Kahului. From the LYN-Lanai Airport, travelers can easily get to Lanai City, or venture to Kapalua, Wailuku, Kaanapali, and Lahaina.

Get to stay at one of the closest hotels from the LYN, the 5-star mountain property of the Four Seasons Resort Lana’i, which is only 8 km away. Alternatively, you can also book at the Puunoa Beach Estate or at the Lahaina Ocean’s Edge, which are both near the beach and got fantastic views of the ocean.
Kapalua-West Maui Airport is the nearest domestic airport, with just 22 miles away from LNY. Molokai Airport (MKK) is next, 27 miles away in Kaunakakai. Kahului Airport is the closest international airport 34 miles away from the Lanai Airport.
