Masaka, Uganda is a city located in Buganda Region and is the base of the Masaka District. Masaka was founded as a township and was converted into a town than a municipality. In 2019, Uganda finally came to a resolution and declared Masaka, UG, as a city and will take effect on July 1, 2020.

The ideal months to visit Masaka are from June to August for good weather. These months are suitable for sightseeing and outdoor activities. June also marks the annual Uganda Marathon, which draws in huge crowds of participants and spectators.
