Maui Ocean Center
Maui Ocean Center is a 3-acre facility aquarium and oceanography center. It is considered the largest in all Western Hemisphere tropical reef aquariums. It was opened in 1998 by Coral World International in Maalaea, Hawaii on Maui Island. The aquarium exhibits on coral reef habitats and some of sea life’s rare species such as sea turtles, sharks, and humpback whales. It continues to undertake projects that would help grow artificial coral reefs and introduced them to the wild afterward in order to fight the rapid decline of coral number caused by global warming and heavy tourism.
Maui Ocean Center is a popular tourist sight. Many excellent accommodations can be found in Maalaea. The Island Sands by CRH ensure a pleasant and comfortable stay.
