McAllen Medical Center, in McAllen, Texas, is a hospital under the ownership of Universal Health Services, a hospital management company based in Pennsylvania. It provides tertiary care to locals, including advanced wound care and maternity care such as orthopedics, neurosurgery, and others. Established in 1985, the center was formed through the union of three hospitals plus another medical center in 2011. In the past years, it has received numerous awards, then in 2015, it was considered one of the most expensive hospitals in South Texas.
