The Mid-America Center is a convention complex and arena located at the Council Bluff City. The center is operated by Caesars Entertainment with a capacity of 9,000 for concert events and 6,700 for sports events. It was opened to the public on October 17, 2002, where the total money spent on its construction is approximately $107 million. The center is the home of the professional football team Iowa Blackhawks. Events have been done in the arena such as the United States Hockey League and some roller derby. Other than a sports event, it also hosts some conventions and ballroom competitions.
