Moliets-et-Maa: A Growing French Summer Destination

Best Time to Visit
Moliets-et-Maa has the perfect weather during the months of April through October. Tourists usually flock during the months of January, February, and July. People are least likely to visit in December. Every third Thursday of November, the New Beaujolais Festival is held throughout the country. During the event, the new Beaujolais is launched with Les Sarmentelles. One of the main highlights of the festival is a procession of barrels of flaming wine shoots. Winemakers open their cellars to the public as well. Another popular event celebrated throughout the country is Rendez-vous aux Jardins, which aims to promote the importance of preserving green spaces. Held every first weekend of June, it features conferences, exhibits, gardening workshops, guided tours, readings, and skills demonstrations.
What to Do & Area Attractions
One of the most famous attractions in the area is Hutchet Current, a coastal river. It is home to the National Nature Reserve, which has nearly 300 species of flora and 270 species of invertebrates. Some of the mammals often spotted in the area are amphibious vole, European Vision, Genette, among others. Another must-visit is Nature Reserve of the Marshes of Orx, which is home to protected wetlands. Here, tourists may enjoy boardwalks and guided tours.
