Montes Claros: A Chest of Archaeological Sites
Montes Claros is the capital and the largest city of north Minas Gerais located at the southeastern part of Brazil. It all started with Antonio Figuiera who wanted to transport his cattle to a nearby market until a small village was formed and in 1857, it gained its city status. A lot of people from nearby villages visit this city for it is Minas Gerais’ center for health, education, livestock, and archaeological sites.
