About Cairn Hotel Group Newton Aycliffe
The Cairn Hotel Group is one of the leading hotel chains in the UK. Founded in 1963, the group based in New Castle has grown to 33 hotels and more than 28 bars and restaurants in the UK. This family-run business established by RoshanLalHanda has over five decades of combined experience providing outstanding customer service in the hospitality industry.
Cairn Hotel Group has long established relationships with reputed hotel brands including Crowne Plaza Hotel and Resorts, Doubletree by Hilton, Mercure, Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn, Best Western, Marriott International, Intercontinental Hotels Group and Accor and Hotel Indigo. It also has forged partnerships with independent properties like Buckinghamshire-based Stoke Place hotel.
According to its latest financial statement as of April 2018, the hotel chain has grown its earnings by 43%, thanks to its successful refurbishments and increasing properties in its portfolio. The figures accounted for its gains from its 2017 acquisition of five properties worth £75 million ($95.6 million) in Durham, Brighton, Harrogate, Stirling, and Cardiff in 2017.
Cairn Hotel Group employs over 1,500 employees and embarks on annual repair and refurbishment programs which affect its short-term operation but knocks its Ebitda in the long run. Nonetheless, the group’s finance director Richard Warren noted that they are planning to reduce their repair and refurbishment programs in the coming years as it expects the market to remain volatile with the UK leaving the European Union.
