Nizwa: Fine Oman City Through the Years

Nizwa has an arid climate, making the months of November through March the perfect time to visit. Tourists usually flock during the months of January, March, and September. People are least likely to visit in November. One of the most anticipated events nearby is Titan of the Hill in Misfat Al Abriyyin. While relatively new— having been launched in 2017, it has significantly attracted tourists over the years. This downhill mountain bike event is held every November. Another popular event that attracts tourists from all over the world is Tour of Oman. It aims to promote cycling in the country, featuring multiple stages throughout Muscat and Nizwa. It offers some of the most punishing mountain bike climbs in any sporting event in the country.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Tourists should visit Nizwa Fort, which is one of the most visited national monuments in the country. Having been around since the 1850s, it has served as a formidable stronghold protecting the city. Tourists should also visit Nizwa Souq, which features a wide range of products. The best of local agricultural products and handicrafts can be found here. Other finds include fruits, poultry, spices, vegetables, among others. There are many Nizwa hotels providing the best local hospitality at competitive rates.
