Norwood, also called Norwood Young America, is a city located in Carver County, in southeastern Minnesota. Norwood Young America was once composed of the two separate cities, Norwood and Young America before they eventually merged in 1997. Many of the tourist attractions around Norwood, MN, are recognized as historical buildings by the National Register of Historic Places. An airport near the city is Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP).
Best Time to Visit
Like many other small rural American towns, Norwood, Minnesota is best visited in the summer, falling from around May to September. This is the ideal kind of weather for going around within the city and exploring the natural environments along its outskirts. November is the best time to visit to avoid the business of peak tourist season. A reason to visit Norwood in August is to catch the Stiftungsfest, or Founder’s Day, celebrating the city’s German heritage.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Among the Norwood, MN natural tourist spots are Baylor Regional Park, a peaceful space right by the lake, where guests can have a picnic, go camping, or even set up a telescope and see the stars on a clear night. The Norwood Methodist Episcopal Church was built in 1876 and is one of the few structures in Carver County to exhibit Romanesque architectural influences.
